Working Americans everywhere are hurting badly. Even those who have managed to remain employed through this terrible period have seen there incomes drop, and if not their incomes then certainly their buying power. Things have been so bad economically that in my ten years of credit counseling have never encountered so many consumers who are literally between a rock and a hard place in terms of receiving debt help.
Perhaps I can provide some examples. One couple needed a debt settlement program because of a clearly projected drop in income coming up. But there was a major hindrance. They had 25,000 dollars of credit card debt, but the 25 k was comprised of 60, yes I said 60— credit cards all with balances of less than 500 dollars.
Every debt settlement company in the country requires that each individual debt have a balance of at least 500.00 dollars with absolutely no exceptions. I mean seriously, who manages credit card balances in that way? Was this the result of debt stress? The only option left? Bankruptcy? Maybe and I will tell you why maybe later in this article.
Here is another example. A consumer had a drop in income of 1000 dollars per month. Divorced and raising two children, she had paid off all her other cards and debt because she knew the change in income was coming. She had one credit card left with a balance of 25000.00 dollars, with monthly payments of 550.00 and very high interest rates. Normally this could be easily handled by a debt management program to
reduce the interest and have the debt paid in 5 years, and maintain her
excellent credit rating. But the fly in the ointment was that she could
now only afford monthly payments in the 250.00 dollar range. This left her an option of debt settlement which would damage her credit short term when she had worked so hard to pay off all the other indebtedness. Even a five year settlement program with a reduction in fees could not get her payment to what she really needed to insure success.
The real sin of who I will call consumer two, is that she was a very moral person and had an incredibly moral sense and desire to pay back this last debt, if only the bank would be cooperative and lower her payment, which they would not.
So what does all this mean to you? Working
your way out of debt is never easy. First you must overcome inertia,
which is the desire of a body at rest to remain at rest. In other words
you have to d research to locate a company to work with and have them
help you find an appropriate solution for you, remember, everyone’s
situation is different.
Before I conclude this article allow
me to say that recently American Debt Enders has begun not just getting
rid of peoples debt but also helping to teach consumers how to become
self empowered financially. If you are interested in a serious work at
home business opportunity, view this video:
Many of us have experienced or are experiencing disappointment, tragedy, misfortune, economic downturn, defeat, heartbreaks, struggles, etc. Has it ever occurred to you that these may very well be the elements or stepping stones of different sizes and colors that you can convert to success and greatness? Let us examine what
Henry, Charles Dickens and Franklin D Roosevelt did in similar circumstances.
Discovered the genius which slept within his brain, after he had met with great misfortune, as he was confined in a prison cell, in Columbus, Ohio.
Being FORCED, through misfortune, to become acquainted with his "other self," and to use his IMAGINATION, he discovered himself to be a great author instead of a miserable criminal and outcast.
Strange and varied are the ways of life, and stranger still are the ways of Infinite Intelligence, through which men are sometimes forced to undergo all sorts
of chastisement before discovering their own brains, and their own capacity to create useful ideas through imagination.
Charles Dickens Converted Tragedy into Greatness
Began his career by pasting labels on blacking pots.
The tragedy of his first love penetrated the depths of his soul, and converted him into one of the world's truly great authors.
That tragedy produced, first, David Copperfield, then a succession of other works that made this a richer
and better world for all who read his books.
Disappointment over love affairs generally has the effect of driving men to drink, and women to ruin; and this, because most people never learn the art of converting their strongest emotions into dreams of a constructive nature.
The world no longer scoffs at the dreamer, nor calls him impractical. If you think it does, take a trip to Tennessee, and witness what a dreamer President has done in the way of harnessing, and using the great water power of America.
A score of years ago, such a dream would have seemed like madness.
You may have been disappointed, you have undergone defeat during the depression, you have felt the great heart within you crushed until it bled. Take courage, for these experiences have tempered the spiritual metal of which you are made--they are assets of incomparable value.
Remember, too, that all who succeed in life get off to a bad start, and pass through many heartbreaking struggles before they "arrive." The turning point in the lives of those who succeed usually comes at the moment of some crisis, through which they are introduced to their "other selves."
Let me state at the outset, I am not a person given to financial schemes.
. I have been a member of a community called Veretekk, Which is the most advanced internet marketing and lead generation company of all time. The company was started
16 years ago, and is a community of people who make a living from home and teach and support each other.
When a Wall Street Journal Article certified billionaire approached Veretekk with the fact that he wanted to make his 5th Guinness Book of World Records, and use Veretekk and its awesome technology to do it, I was paying attention. I knew exactly what Veretekk could do, as I had used it to build a national credit counseling company.
I then attended a meeting to learn more, and spoke personally to the founder of Veretekk, who was constantly approached to put the marketing power of his company behind the next get rich program, and for 16 years had declined until now. This was different. Veretekk would be the marketing company, Ed Mercer and a new ground floor opportunity, that people could be successful at from home the first tool on the way to being successful at this ground floor opportunity.
There is so much more to this, that if you are at all interested I personally invite you to one of the many meetings. Here is the Ed Mercer meeting link there are four per day, and clicking the link will get you where you need to be. If you are still not convinced then please check out this Ed Mercer short video.

From the author of this blog: This article may be the most life changing free counseling advice you will ever receive.
Are you familiar with NIH, the “not invented here” syndrome? Perhaps it’s rampant at your place of work. In essence, it’s a persistent culture of avoiding new technology, services, ideas, systems or methods unless they come from within. It’s a form of mistrust and even elitism. Unless you or your particular group developed it, you and your group want no part of it.
In case you weren’t aware, the evolution of my life and in my training to others, was because of the opposite. I firmly preach that you must see outside information, whether you are a company or a person. In my autobiography, Another Day Without A Cage: My Breakthrough From Self-Imprisonment To Total Empowerment, I take my life from helplessness to total empowerment because I seek outside input and stretch myself to uncover the unknown, despite fear.
Unfortunately, this ‘not invented here’ attitude exists and can lead to much inefficiency at work. I mean, why re-invent the wheel when it already exists and works just fine? Avoiding a concept or tool or procedure just because it “wasn’t invented here” stems from all the wrong ideas, from being suspicious of outside influences to being unwilling to value the work of others. It leads to an uncooperative, wasteful and even disorganized working environment – certainly not conducive for getting things done.
Here’s how to overcome this crippling mentality:
1. Evaluate the product, system, tool or idea on its own merit, regardless of where it came from or who developed it. If it’s useful to you or your department, if it saves time, money or resources, if it’s brilliant, then put aside your concerns and use it.
2. Determine how it will make your job easier or make you perform better. Does this method or technology help you do your job better? Does it benefit you? Can it potentially help you produce better work in less time? If the answer to any of these is “yes,” then apply the product or service even if it comes from an external group.
3. Leave your ego at the door. Just because you didn’t come up with the idea doesn’t mean it has no value. Put your ego aside and determine the concept’s value logically, without letting your emotions get in the way.
4. Keep an open mind. People tend to resist what’s unfamiliar, yet we often benefit when we’re open to trying something different. By keeping an open mind, you’ll be more likely to see the benefits of trying something that was “Not Invented Here.”

Perhaps you are a regular reader and have noticed a slight change in tone and topic of these last few articles. It just seemed time, considering the economy to write about more than the usual. To many people do not even have the money to enter a structued program. So my hope is to let each article stand on its own merit. I will never lead you down a bad or negative path.
I was speaking with an individual the other day because she filled out the same form contained at the bottom of this article. What was the form about? It was about the opportunity expressed in this Wall Street Journal Press release. The press release talks about an individual who is one of the worlds 1200 certified billionaires, Ed Mercer and how he is looking to break his 5th Guinness Book of World Records, by mentoring at least 100 people to learn to become millionaires. There will be a TV show after he does it, etc. In other words a big deal.
The young lady who filled out the form expressing interest, proceeded to tell me that she was on disability. I asked if she could use a telephone, she said yes. She wanted to know if there was a cost involved, because she had just invested 250.00 dollars into a gifting program. I asked if it was successful or not, to which she did not answer. She asked if this opportunity required money? I said, you mean like the gifting program? No answer. I Invited her to the meeting, where she would get all her questions answered. I explained that the meetings were in conference rooms with Ed Mercer and the principles of a company called Veretekk, 15 years in the making, as the worlds greatest symbiotic marketing company and a community of individuals, Just like her, who were committed to helping each other succeed. The meeting would last 55 minutes, and she would learn everything she needed to know, she was on disability, at the very least, it would give her something constructive to do.
So lets see. She was more than willing to invest 250.00 dollars into a gifting program known to be less than above board. Filled out the form expressing an interest in attending an absolutely free meeting with no strings, and then ended the conversation by saying it was not for her.
Did she mean success was not for her? A real opportunity was not for her? I have no idea. Not my place to try and sell her anything. But this is a prime example of dropping the gold to hold onto the silver that was not even real silver.
I am a credit counselor and run into this same mindset with many of the consumers i speak with. If they get out of debt, they can become self empowered, and change their lives. Oh, did I mention my counseling is absolutely free. Yet strangely, at the last minute the idea of change holds them back, and they decide not to move ahead.
I grew up with this mentality, whatever it’s called it holds people back from success, and for some reason, thank God, I always rejected it. Well, if this article made any sense to you and financially, you are struggling, and would like to change that. Only you can change that.

The inspiration for this article came from an actual credit counseling session recently with a consumer who had in excess of 50,000 dollars of credit card debt, about 3 months behind on payments looking to do something to lower his payments, which had now become a problem due to a drop in income, and the same monthly expenses. He needed a drop in his monthly expenses of in excess of 1500 dollars per month to make things work with the new lower income.
Without giving you a headache, this consumer was very used to living his lifestyle. Car payments on each of three cars with monthly payments in excess of 500.00 dollars per month. No easy way out on the cars but possibilities, but the possibilities were neither easy or comfortable.
He was also paying his mothers mortgage. Of course he had grown accustomed to his lifestyle, so his first thought was that perhaps a debt settlement program or a bankruptcy could help him. He was thinking correctly. Debt settlement programs would have reduced his monthly payments dramatically, but not enough without other drastic changes. With his current lower 100,000 dollar per year salary and the equity in his house he was not a candidate for a bankruptcy and Ch 7 without other changes. I even sent him to an excellent mortgage broker for a refinance. The problem was that his monthly payments on the new mortgage would just about have doubled his payments.
Those last three words, without other changes, were the problem. The necessary changes would involve selling at least one of the cars, and driving something much less luxurious, and other significant cut backs. When I was personally faced with this same situation, about 20 years ago, except my debts were in the millions, some of the decisions were made for me. Two of the cars were simply repossessed. The natural inclination was to get them back, when my wife and I had a serendipitous moment. Get them back? Why? Now that they were gone, they were two less things to worry about paying each month. So why couldn’t we do this with other things? My wife and I finally realized they were just material possessions, and when the debt crises was over, we could always buy new ones if we were so inclined.
This was a truly enlightening moment for us. We actually felt relief as those cars were repossessed. While it wasn’t nearly enough of a change to solve our problems, the change in our thinking was the first step to becoming debt free. All the experts and attorneys we counseled with could not ever have accomplished what those repossessions did for us. After getting this consumer free telephone consultations with a bankruptcy lawyer, and providing three different debt settlement program quotes trying to get his payments lower, my counseling took a different direction. I told him my very personal story in some detail. Hoping that he would have his own serendipitous moment, as I hope you have yours while reading this.
The fact is that as effective as debt relief structured programs have become, they still will not and cannot resolve every debt situation. Sometimes we just have to take it slowly, one day at a time and act on some very hard realizations. And yes, sometimes those realizations are forced on us. The key is to realize that the valley of any crises in life does not last forever. It also helps to know that there is a God in heaven.

and higher levels of positive energy facilitate a successful outlook.
What you choose to do for fun is up to
you. Here are ideas to get you started:
1. Invite a friend or loved one to go
for a walk with you at your favorite park or nature area.
2. Read a chapter from a work of
fiction you enjoy or from a motivational book.
3. Spend 15 minutes on the phone with
someone who makes you laugh. 4. Sign up for a class you’ve
wanted to take just for the joy of it.
5. Engage in physical activity that’s
good for your body and that you find fun, such as swimming, cycling,
hiking, sailing, gardening or dancing.
6. Spend half an hour on a hobby you
enjoy.
7. Attend a social function that
appeals to you.
8. Prepare yourself a meal that’s
nutritious, delicious, and fun to make.
9. Listen to music you enjoy, such as

10.Spend quality time with a cuddly
animal friend.

HERE IS GAILS ARTICLE:
Staying mentally fit is as important as being physically fit.
In the same way that you exercise to build muscle and keep
your weight in check, you can do exercises that benefit your
mind. Keeping yourself mentally fit is a great gift to yourself,
one that helps you in countless ways, from performing better
on the job to keeping up with great conversations. Mental fitness
also can ward off dementia and other diseases. I have even added
a mental fitness routine to my physically fit routine. Check out this
video to get your two minutes of mental and physical motivation
Check out this
video to get your two minutes of mental and physical motivation .
Here are three exercises you can do often to keep yourself mentally fit:
1. Improve your memorization skills. Whatever your age, you can
memorize a poem, song, script or passage to augment your mental
abilities. Those of you who’ve read my autobiography, Another Day
Without a Cage: My Breakthrough From Self-Imprisonment to Total Empowerment,
know that when I was a child, I called the weather information line to get
the forecast. I was so impressed by the weather lady’s delivery that I kept
calling back to listen to the script, write it down in full, and memorize it.
It was a great mental exercise, and I was proud of my accomplishment.
What you choose to memorize is up to you – it could be anything from the
lyrics of your favorite song to the list of United States presidents. Anything goes!
2. Practice puzzles. Sudoku, crossword puzzles, Rubik’s cube,
cryptograms – any type of word, language or logic puzzle can stretch your
mind and boost your mental health. Plus, it’s a great pastime whenever you need
a good stress-relief distraction. Practice puzzles to grow your brain power.
3. Learn something new.
Perhaps best of all, you can practice mental fitness by learning something new.
Teach yourself phrases in another language. Take that class you’ve wanted to
take for a while. Acquire a new personal or professional skill. Use your computer
to gain knowledge. Whatever you choose to learn, you can be sure it will serve
you well as it boosts your metal fitness.
