Well, in point of fact their is more than one type of credit card consolidation available. I am speaking about programs like Debt Settlement , Debt Restructure programs.

Yes, their is more than one type of debt settlement program. First-their is a simple no upfront fee Debt Settlement Program, in which you are not charged any fee until the debt settlement company has success in altering the debt. Generally, in this type of credit card consolidation program, their is no in person legal representation, but the law firm behind the program will generally provide an answer to any subpoena received by the client, and instruct the client on how to file the answer. If the law firm is good, this can be very effective, and the advantage to the client is that they have professional negotiators working on their behalf, who are extremely motivated to succeed, since they are not getting paid until a settlement happens. Also, in this program the consumer makes a single payment each month to a third party escrow company, and is able to have control over when funds are actually released. One of the biggest advantages of this type of credit card consolidation program is that the monthly payment is greatly reduced from the original creditor required payments. Of course, in the converse, the creditor is generally not receiving regular monthly payments in this program, and depending on a persons individual circumstances, can damage a persons credit.

Where this type of program works best is when a consumer already has a damaged credit report.
